Camp Night One

Well we made it up to camp and thought that the night would ever start.  Tech problems, car problems that delayed the worship team made the start pretty rough.  Finally with the worship team in place the tech problems solved we kicked off camp 2010.  What a great start, it was well worth the wait!  Such an incredible time of worship.  Students really engaged and pressed in. When it came time to hear from our camp speaker Pastor Mark Schilling who is a great friend of ours kicked of the night talking about One Thing.  Building of the text Mark 10:21, 21Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

God really began to reveal to the students the One Thing in their life that might be hindering them from fully experiencing all God has for them.

To bring it home Mark really painted a picture of how we never really hear of people who almost do things. You never really hear the names of those who almost made it to the top of Mount Everest. God is looking for those who would be willing to give up that one thing that might be holding them back and fully trust God with their life.

There was an incredible response to the altar.  No hype, just God moving young people to come and lay down their one thing.

I know students made a real choice and look forward to seeing how God is going to continue the work he started.

More to come.
